The native integration with ServiceDesk Plus mattered a lot in our case, since we're building the service desk on the same ecosystem and assets arrive already linked to it. The cloud version is up and running in minutes, with no server to install and maintain. The agent also works well on machines outside the corporate network without requiring a VPN, which was a requirement for us given hybrid working. I also appreciated having a price configurator inside the console. Being able to simulate editions and quantities yourself is uncommon and helps you form a view before talking to a salesperson. > > **Ulemper**: The differences between editions are not easy to piece together. Some functions I had assumed were included — blocking executables and automatically uninstalling unauthorised software — are not in the Professional edition, and I only noticed by reading the comparison matrix line by line. The documentation mixes the on-premises and cloud versions. On MDM availability I found conflicting information, and only resolved it by checking the cloud-specific matrix. Licensing works across several axes (endpoints, servers, technicians, add-ons), and only one technician licence is included in the base package. It needs to be worked out in advance because it affects the total noticeably. In the configurator, some add-ons come pre-enabled with default quantities, so it's worth reviewing every line before generating a quote. The interface is very feature-rich and takes some getting used to at first. > > We're currently evaluating the cloud trial across roughly 160 Windows workstations, alongside introducing ServiceDesk Plus for asset and contract management. Setup was quick and the inventory returned useful data straight away, which was our main goal: replacing a manually maintained record with something that updates itself. The part that took the most time wasn't technical but analytical — working out which edition actually covers the functions we need. My advice to anyone evaluating is to start from the comparison matrix and your own requirements list, not from the price. As we're not in production yet, I can't comment on patching at scale or on technical support, which we haven't had occasion to contact.
