Om Jira
Stolte på av team fra 2 til 20 000 for å planlegge, spore og samarbeide om arbeid, tilbyr Jira hvert team de beste verktøyene og praksisene for vekst.
It’s ease of use to set up different help desks or ticket requests was fairly easy. Each help desk can be unique to the department it serves.
It can be costly and there are nasty sides on the licensing. For example, you can't use plugins for a limited number of users, and only pay for that the number of users.

Not Great, not terrible
Kommentarer: Using Jira feels a bit like working with an old partner—reliable, but rough around the edges. It gets the job done, sure, and when it’s working smoothly, you appreciate the structure it brings. It helps you keep track of every detail, and when you’re neck-deep in issues, that’s a lifesaver. But it’s not always quick, or clean. Sometimes it makes you jump through hoops to get simple things done. You get bogged down in configurations, settings that don’t play nice together, and the whole thing can feel heavier than it should. It’s like trying to get answers from a witness who keeps dodging questions—you’ll get there eventually, but not without some frustration. Overall, Jira’s solid. It’s got the tools you need to keep things moving, but don’t expect it to hold your hand. You’ve got to be willing to put in the time to make it work for you.
Fordeler:
Jira? Yeah, it’s got its perks. It’s a tool that doesn’t just let you keep tabs on a job; it lets you really see it—track each issue, each lead, like it’s right in front of you. The workflows? They’re flexible, like good disguises. You can twist them to fit any shape. Agile boards help keep things under control—like a good stakeout, you get your sprints, your backlogs, keep everyone moving in the right direction. And then there's the integrations… fits with just about anything, like it was built to blend in. Reports and analytics? Those are the real truth-tellers. They don’t lie. They show you who’s keeping up, who’s falling behind. And the automations—well, those let you set things on autopilot. I like that. In my line of work, anything that does some of the heavy lifting for you… it’s a welcome tool. Yeah, Jira’s a good partner, long as you don’t forget who’s in control.
Ulemper:
Jira’s got its ups and downs. It’s a tool that tries to do a little bit of everything, but sometimes that means you’re dealing with too much noise and not enough signal. It can feel bloated, like it’s trying to be the hero of every job, when really, it just needs to get the basics right. Customizing anything? That can take you down a rabbit hole. You end up sifting through layers, settings buried under more settings, just to get it working how you need. Performance is another thing—it’ll drag its feet at the worst times. You want to get in, make a few updates, and get out, but it’s like you’re wading through molasses. And notifications? You’ll get hammered with them unless you shut most off, which kind of defeats the purpose. It’s powerful, sure. But it could use a little more finesse and a lot less complication.
Jira, an already powerful project management tool you can power up even further.
Kommentarer: At the start it's intimidating due to the huge amount of tools it offers, but once you figure them out it becomes a very useful tool with tons of options and the ability to customize things to best accommodate your team and automate the management process.
Fordeler:
Incredibly complete and robust project management tool. Has basically everything, and gives you the ability to power things up even further by programming custom logics, both inside the tool and outside, by using its API.
Ulemper:
Figuring out which template works best, and what are their differences, can take a while.

Kommentarer: Overall Jira has been a great tool for team project management. But sometimes tasks get lost in the sea of backlog tasks we've created. (kind of our fault)
Fordeler:
Jira is great for team project management and keeping everyone on track to complete "sprints"

Jira Service Desk Management for HR
Kommentarer: Very positive implementing and using Jira Service Desk Management as a Case Management and Queries Inbox solution. Quick implementation and adaptive enough to allow for continuous development and improvements to our workflows. With technical resource within the HR function, little to no IT support was required to build or roll out the platform.
Fordeler:
Jira (Service Desk Management) is incredibly durable and customisable. The system can be designed around internal processes and workflows in order to produce a platform bespoke to requirements. It also integrates very well with a large range of other platforms and services.
Ulemper:
Some of the build and design can be tricky and on occasion due to confusing navigation of the administrative menus and options, especially if your HR function lacks a technical resource or support from IT function.
Vurderte alternativer: Zendesk Suite
Grunner til å bytte til Jira: Better value for money, easier build and implementation for non-technical resource.
A fundamental tool for ticket management.
Kommentarer:
We had two experiences with Jira: one in early 2014, one in 2020.
The first one was a bit painful as it was setup by an external expert who didn't have a clear vision of our company's workflow.
Meanwhile Jira changed and evolved and in 2020 we were able to set up everything on our own matching our own workflows.
We've been working on in it continuosly updating it as our company grow.
Fordeler:
One of the most complete time tracking and ticket management tools. Provides the tools to build in-depth flows that fit your own workflow and adapt it to your own changes.
Ulemper:
It requires some pre-setup thinking and adjustment to properly match your workflow. It doesn't handle multiple assignees to tasks out of the box.
Vurderte alternativer: Trello og Asana
Grunner til å velge Jira: Trello didn't manage workflow and status changes as we expected. Now Trellos is fully integrated into Jira mixing Trello's great "to-do" lists with Jira's flow management.
Byttet fra: Trello
Grunner til å bytte til Jira: Jira seemed to be the most complete solution.

Still a great product that needs to clearly define it's course.
Kommentarer: Jira is a great project management tool that we will keep using in the foreseeable future. It has, however, a growing number of shortcomings that, if not addressed, will lead to a migration to Linear.
Fordeler:
- Great set of functionalities. - Great automation. - Fantastic integration with other tools.
Ulemper:
- Team-managed and company-managed are an unnecessary distinction that create a lot of overhead and annoyance on the project management process. - Team-managed projects have functionalities that are not present in company-managed projects and vice-versa. - Lackluster documentation.
Overall top product for software development task tracking and management
Kommentarer: Overall, as a product owner, I could not anyway stay on top of things if I would not use Jira daily. Prioritising is the biggest thing for me and our team and Jira helps with that a lot. The product is also startup friendly when it comes to the pricing/subscriptions.
Fordeler:
Jira, as a part of other Atlassian products, has been improved a lot in the last year. When we started with Jira, we were only using it for development task tracking, nowadays we are using it, along with Confluence and Bitbucket, as the backbone of our technical records. Jira takes time to get to know to, but they are improving the UI towards more user friendly way. I have not yet found any possible alternatives for the overall capabilities of Jira.
Ulemper:
Some part of settings and some more advanced options in Jira are still a bit hard to reach. But you just need to use the docs and search for help from the internet when you feel like you are stuck. There are a lot of Jira users out there and many of the issues you will face when using it, have been recognised and people have found word arounds.
Comprehensive Review: Jira – The Powerhouse for Project Management
Kommentarer: Actually, experience with Jira is just great because it really supports powerful project management tools, flexible workflows, and the integration of other ascribed tools such as Slack or Confluence. Nonetheless, it is hard to cover its depth even for a single user, much less for new users; however, Jira is useful for projects of larger scale and cross-team collaboration.
Fordeler:
Jira's versatility, customizable workflows, visibility, integrations, automation, and Agile support.
Ulemper:
Jira's steep learning curve, and occasional slow, cluttered interface for beginners.

Streamlined Project Management with Jira
Kommentarer: Once we got past the learning phase, Jira significantly improved our project efficiency and collaboration. I highly recommend it for teams seeking to enhance productivity.
Fordeler:
Jira’s flexibility and customizable workflows are fantastic for tailoring project management to any team’s needs. Its integration with tools like Confluence and Bitbucket enhances collaboration, and the reporting features provide valuable insights.
Ulemper:
The initial learning curve can be steep, making it overwhelming for new users. Configuring advanced workflows might also be complex.
Track, collaborate, integrate CI/CD platforms in an agile environment using Jira
Kommentarer: I have been using it for 4 years in a row now and the experience has been immersive. It is the first thing I use while beginning my day at work. I track the tasks at hand and begin working with higher priority items. It is simpler to use over a period of time and easily checkout branches in github using the commands specified in the Jira UI. I am a current user of Jira and it has improved a lot over years and it is just the way I want my agile project to be tracked, collaborate on a team level and achieve milestones
Fordeler:
I like the concept of agile sprint management which Jira is designed for. I like the way tasks are arranged on the Jira task board. It has a way of defining sprint points for each task which helps enables the team and stakeholders to identify the resource consumption and time taken to deliver the story. It also enables me to track the progress of my own tasks on an individual level and collaborate on a team level. It comes with integration with CI/CD tools like github as well
Ulemper:
The linking of tasks to current sprint can be more simpler. Also initial learning of this platform takes some time if you are from a non technical background. The UI has scope of improvement, can be more modular
Great tool for managing projects!
Fordeler:
Jira offers an excellent platform for managing multiple projects efficiently, especially when working across diverse teams. It provides a highly customizable experience, particularly in terms of time tracking and effort estimation, which makes tracking progress clear and comprehensive. Adding details to tasks and subtasks is straightforward, ensuring that nothing important is overlooked. The ability to clone tickets is a standout feature, saving time when similar tasks need to be created or duplicated for different projects. Additionally, the state management on the boards is smooth, allowing users to easily move tasks between statuses and keep the whole team in sync on project progress. Overall, Jira is an essential tool for organized, effective project management with great flexibility to meet team needs.
Ulemper:
One area that could use improvement is email notifications. They often feel cluttered and overwhelming, making it difficult to focus on the most relevant updates. A more streamlined approach to notifications would enhance the user experience and help prioritize the most important information.

Jira simplifies project management for teams.
Kommentarer: On my own, I like Jira extensive issue tracking system. It lets me write thorough tickets that catch everything and hold my team accountable. I have not encountered many options with the ability to adapt processes to our project.
Fordeler:
Jira stands out because it can be customized to almost any project management methodology. This has greatly helped my team's particular process needs. These are better than most reporting solutions I've used. I schedule sprints using their more detailed project statuses, velocity charts, and burn down metrics.
Ulemper:
Though improved, the user experience still feels strange and slow, which bothers me when working.
The best way to manage projects
Kommentarer: Working within Jira has strengthened our team for it provides us with robust and efficient project management tools.
Fordeler:
I like how Jira is effective in management of agile projects. It provides us with variety of settings that can be customized in terms of the prospects allowed, such as Kanban boards,Scrum framework and extremely detailed reporting regarding our organization. Also I like that it is capable of accommodating sophisticated projects and multiple department in our organization.
Ulemper:
The interface can be somehow complex for first time users.
Flexible, integrated, and very efficient overall for teamwork management
Kommentarer: I was part of the team that managed all of their activities on Jira - from application development to issue resolution to communication with internal clients. Jira was in the heart of our everyday routine. The ability to link issues together and define dependencies, and to attach documents, images, etc., along with a tight integration with our Atlassian tools, made it extremely efficient for our needs.
Fordeler:
It's a flexible, highly configurable tool that keeps teams on the same page with regard to projects, issue resolutions, or any tasks that need to get done and involve multiple people
Ulemper:
Not too many drawbacks that I could mention.
Jira: Robust, Iconic & Full-featured PPM
Fordeler:
Manual workflow tends to consume a lot of time and is highly expensive to use in business processes. Jira is the main tool which I use to automate workloads such as task and project management.
Ulemper:
The errors which I was experiencing last year are no more since the vendor success team eradicated them early this year.
A good experiece with Jira as a software development management tool
Kommentarer:
I am working with Jira for more than 10 years as a software developer, mid level management and VP,
It can give clear process management feature from different hights (zoom in and zoom out)
Fordeler:
The best thing about Jira is that the product is very (very) user friendly and easy to onboard, In addition it's highly customizable
Ulemper:
It's hard to tell what is less working in Jira, but as a platform it sometimes lacks features where you need to go to the marketplace to find the missing features and it can have an additional cost
