Great and Reliable Call Center Tool

Fordeler:

We used Twillio as our primary phone tool to manage and distribute contacts between a large group of sales managers. Each sales managers operates in their own market and language, due to this setup many other tools were skipped and Twilio actually solved this issue for us.

Ulemper:

It is really techy and not everyone from every team can be involved in setting it up. Sometimes reliability issues arise, the pricing felt jumpy too.

First class SMS API Platform for developers

Kommentarer: I have been using Twilio for three years. Actually this is a very suitable Platform for SMS. This is the Platform I recommend to all my clients.

I am Ajay Full Stack Developer. Basically I'm using Twilio for SMS. Two things motivate me to use Twilio one is, compare to other SMS Platform it's very easy to get the payed API Key and and minimum of code. Second thing is, They provide very good costumer care support.

Ulemper:

Features wise no drawbacks in Twilio but compare to other platform littlie bit more cost.

I do not like how hard it was to get our A2P registration set up and the back and forth with the support team, I don't like the cost on top of everything else we pay for and the website itself is not user-friendly

My 2 year experience with Twilio

Kommentarer: I have used twilio for over 2 years having spent over $2,000 in call credit roughly, Twilio does the job, but it can be a pain at times. very difficult to set up and the phone number verification process takes way too long.

Great Service, for experienced users

Customer support is dificult to reach and unresponsive

Kommentarer: We have been a SendGrid customer for about 7 months. We use the service to handle the transactional emails from our website. We have been satisfied with that service and decided to also use them for our marketing campaigns On September 30th we exported our MailChimp contacts and cleaned up the data. On October we upgraded our SendGrid plan to Basic 50k, contacted SendGrid support, informed them what we were doing and asked about the use of Tags. We then imported 47k contacts, prepared a time sensitive single send marketing piece which we released on October 2nd to our complete contact list. SendGrid shut down the campaign, disabled the links in the 13k emails that had been sent, making them useless, and suspended our account. We have been unable to reach SendGrid to resolve this. This action, and lack of it by Twillo/SendGrid has significantly impacted our business as the campaign was in support of a live continuing education course scheduled for Tuesday 10/3. At this point we are trying to salvage what we can by moving to another marketing service.

We were migrating our email marketing from MailChimp to Twillo's SendGrid. Relative to MailChimp we found SendGrid's email design tool to be more flexible and easier to use

Customer support: Two issues1 -Customer support is difficult to access. The support phone number listed on Google is disconnected, there is no chat, "Contact support" on the website requires the user to fill in a text box labeled "Tell us your issue." We've tried this multiple times only to get an error message: "There was an error retrieving results for your query. Please try again." We've managed to get multiple messages to SendGrid Support by responding to previous support ticket emails. I see some one at SendGrid has deleted all but one of these. Obviously someone knows we have an urgent issue but no response and it has been over 18 hours since our first request for support. 2. When we informed Customer support that we were migrating our marketing champagne from Mail Chimp to SendGrid they failed to inform us about the possibility of the automated account suspension we have encountered, and how to avoid it .

Twilio as a great system analyzer

Kommentarer: In general terms, I found the platform perfect mainly because of its simplicity and because it did not generate any inconvenience in its use. It also allowed the onboarding team to speed up the verification of requirements in order to continue with the processes without further delays.

I found the platform to be very simple but intuitive and at the same time fast and concise as an analyzer of the system data needed to apply for certain jobs that needed specific system requirements.

Ulemper:

What I found less favorable about the platform was that, at least the first time I used it, when it was not so updated and I saw an error, it did not indicate what the specific error was, but it provided a code and then I had to consult the IT team to find out what needed to be fixed. Later that was corrected but maybe later on there will be some inconveniences like that.

Very useful but getting more and more expensive

Kommentarer: You have to build your own interface to use the Twilio API. Or pay for a software that can use the API, which is easier and cheaper. The Twilio interface only allows you to monitor usage, create reports, billing management, and program IVR. It doesn't provide an interface for your sales team to use.

I like how complete it is and all the API possibilities. You can achieve so much if you know what you're doing. You can create a call center and monitor everything, including recordings. SMS marketing, ringless voicemail, etc..

Ulemper:

As you scale, it gets very expensive (no discounts at all for loyalty). Zapier is losing its market share to Make, Pipedream, and Pabbly. Soon the same will happen to Twilio.

Amazing Company Building A Place for businesses of all sizes

I like the company proposition, how there are tutorials and thorough documentation for everything that you will rarely talk to support about an error for example.

Ulemper:

They have some limitations when it comes to the WhatsApp API. A lot of bureaucracy and long wait times are not suitable for businesses looking for a solution.

Poor customer service in Twilio

Kommentarer: Being one of the major players in the market, Twilio has abused its position greatly! We and our customers consequentially, have experienced major service suspension in our US region. TBy not taking serious operational issues for their customer as a matter of priority they have caused us not only loss of revenue but impacted our reputation vastly. The interruption to services in the US area has been left unresolved for over 2 weeks, being transferred from department to department and mostly handled by AI very unsuccessfully and time consuming.Since it has been a reoccurring issue, and has been solved previously, it shows us that their client data and history management is very poor. Being a global service provider based in the US, they do not take into account the time zone differences and the customer support response time is appalling. The response time window doesn’t consider the time difference when the automation kicks in.

Level of customer service - our issue with the US carrier is being handled for more than 2 weeks with no success. And Twilio is based in the US.Use of AI in Customer support - no result, tons of disappointment.Kicking the ticket from one department to another knowing the importance of the matter for us and our customers.

Twilio abruptly turned off the service without any warning leaving people unable to sign up to the app. The timing was terrible as a number of affiliates had started promoting. Whats even more insulting is that our pleas for support just went ignored and 4 days later we havent had a response. This company does not deserve your business. They allowed our start up to get scammed via toll fraud then when we disputed the payment they abruptly paused our account a month later without warning purly as an act of revenge. Absolutely unconscionable unethical unprofessional conduct.

Kommentarer: We were scammed with sms fraud to the tune of 2000USD. Eventually they refunded us. However 2 months later they canceled our account because of a bank charge back which we had cancelled. They basically threw our business under the bus. No one could sign up to our service for days. If you want to lose your clients and damage your business use twilio.

Twilio is the best programmable communication tool.

Kommentarer: My overall experience is great with twilio i have been using it for more than year and will continue to use it. The pricing is good comparatively and also it's API is fast and relaible i have integrated twilio in my websites and i am very happy with it.

I love Twilio because it comes with a very nice pricing system and then the api is my favorit. You can use it for sending messages and calls that you have pre programmed and is very very very helpful to solve your costumer's problem and keep the engagements and the top level.

One Thing i do not like about twilio that you can not customize your sender name for some countries like USA. so the sms sent is from twilio's own username i do not know why is twilio not allowing to use a custom sender name in all countries but yes this is the only thing i do not appreciate

Nice for SMS/MMS, WhatsApp is frustrating

Fordeler:

Number creation and management is nice and easy. Logging is good, and APIs are top tier.

Ulemper:

Channel breadth is a real issue. Texting and WhatsApp are all that's there. The WA integration was pretty frustrating. Simple tasks, like getting updates on number quality or template quality scores had to be done via support ticket.

Lack of support and slow setup process and validation process

Kommentarer: It has been pretty bad. Medicore support and slow validation process. If you have months and months time to do your project then Twilio may work. very slow process to onboard and start using their products.

Lack of customer service, setup is cumbersome and validations take forever for Twilio to complete. They can not open any pdf files you send them, yet they want proof. Frustrated that I could not even get to move forward initial step of getting a phone number assigned and restrictions imposed by twilio. Look else where if you have options.
